A district and sessions court in Karachi acquitted Natasha Danish, the wife of a prominent businessman, in the high-profile Karsaz Road accident case. The decision came on Thursday after a compromise was reached between the involved parties, leading to her acquittal.
The tragic accident occurred on August 19 on Karachi’s Karsaz Road. Natash Danish drivng a speeding Toyota Land Cruiser, intoxicated, collided with a motorcycle before veering off onto the service road. The crash resulted in the immediate deaths of 60-year-old Imran Arif and his 22-year-old daughter, Amna. Additionally, four other individuals sustained serious injuries in the incident.
Following the Karsaz accident, Natasha Danish, who hails from a well-known business family in Karachi, was arrested and charged with manslaughter. The case drew significant public attention due to the involvement of a high-profile family and the tragic loss of life.
The court’s decision to acquit Natasha Danish was based on a compromise pact submitted by the victims’ family, who chose to pardon her. Advocate Amir Mansoob Qureshi, representing Danish, confirmed the court’s acceptance of the compromise application, stating, “The court has accepted the compromise application and acquitted Natasha from this case.”
Notably, Natasha Danish was not present during the hearing when the acquittal was announced.
Prior to her acquittal, Natasha had secured bail in the manslaughter case on September 6. The legal proceedings also included a separate drug-related case, in which the Sindh High Court (SHC) granted her bail on September 30. This decision came after her bail pleas in the drug case were dismissed twice by lower courts. The SHC granted bail against surety bonds worth Rs1 million.
