The family has expressed no objection to Natasha Danish’s bail request, stating in court that the accident was unintentional, despite evidence suggesting otherwise.

On Friday, the heirs of the victims, including Imran’s son Usama Arif, his wife, and daughter, announced their decision to pardon Natasha Danish. In an affidavit prepared for the court, they stated, “We have reached an agreement and have pardoned the suspect. We forgive in the name of Allah, the most merciful and compassionate.” The document emphasized their belief that the incident was not a deliberate act of harm and clarified that their decision was made voluntarily, without any external pressure.

The family is expected to submit a no-objection certificate (NOC) to the court as part of Danish’s bail plea, a move that has sparked widespread speculation and controversy.

The accident occurred on August 19 near the Pakistan Maritime Museum, when Natasha Danish, wife of the Gul Ahmed CEO, crashed her Toyota Land Cruiser into multiple vehicles. The collision resulted in the deaths of 26-year-old Amina and her 60-year-old father, Imran, and left five others injured. One of the injured remains in critical condition.

Emergency responders transported the victims to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medical and legal procedures. Danish, who sustained a head injury, underwent a CT scan at the same facility.

Despite Danish’s claim that her vehicle lost control on a service road near Karsaz, CCTV footage and a blood test revealed a different story. The footage suggested deliberate action, and tests confirmed she was under the influence of crystal meth at the time of the crash.

Initially, a case was filed by Imtiaz Arif, brother of the deceased, at the Bahadurabad police station. Charges of culpable homicide and negligence were included in the FIR. Imtiaz recounted the harrowing moment he learned of his brother and niece’s deaths and blamed Natasha’s “negligence, reckless driving, and speeding” for the tragedy.

Further investigations revealed that Natasha Danish held a valid driving license, leading to additional charges of negligence and reckless driving. A subsequent case was filed after tests confirmed the presence of methamphetamine in her system, adding a charge related to the use of prohibited substances.

The incident has sparked public outrage, with many demanding justice for the victims and calling for Natasha Danish to be held accountable. The decision by the victims’ family to forgive Danish has fueled suspicions that they were either paid off or coerced into dropping the charges, a notion that has only intensified the public’s demand for transparency and justice.
